Weekending 12th May 2023
Another short week! Within Maths we have started our topic on time with year 3 recapping o’clock and ½ past. Year 4 have looked at am and pm as well as years, months, weeks, hours, minutes and seconds.
Please can you keep asking your child at home what the time is, especially on analogue clocks.
In English we have continued with our topic based on the book Ottoline and the Yellow Cat and have sequenced the story and added detail as well as described the characters and setting using paragraphs.
In geography we have explored the theme of mountains including Mount Everest being the highest and Snowdon. We compared Snowdon and Snowdonia to our local Rame area. Within science we started looking at magnets and found out about north and south poles on them and the fact they can repel or attract and these are forces. Within music we used percussion instruments to compose short pieces to describe the paintings of Mark Rothko.
Mrs Emily Green will be with Class Tamar Monday through to Wednesday next week and the following Monday.
Enjoy some sunshine!
Class Tamar.
Weekending 5th May 2023

Within RE we looked at the meaning of the parable of ‘The Good Samaritan’ and what neighbour meant. We have continued developing our cricket skills including, batting, bowling and catching and in French we learnt the names of the letters of the alphabet.

We have continued with Ottoline and the Yellow Cat, including planning like Ottoline did for catching the Yellow Cat. We also did a character description of Mr Munroe.
Within Geography we found out about earthquakes, volcanoes and mountains including that the Earth is made of huge plates of rock called tectonic plates. Science, we carried on learning about forces including friction and that friction can produce heat. We played bingo in French, learning the names of pets and in RE we read the story when Jesus feeds the 5000.
